Get you someone who looks at you the same way I look at Nautica. 🥰
Just Nautica, being a supermodel in all of the snow and ice last week... I was debating on whether or not this photo was Instagram-worthy but, obviously, every Nautica photo is Instagram-worthy. Just look at him. 🥰
Dreaming of warmer days and horse shows... Nautica has been working fantastically despite the miserable weather lately. I'm excited to get him back in the showring!
We had a real feel temperature of -1°F in North Alabama this morning. That never stops Nautica from being his typical, cheerful self, even if snow isn't necessarily favorite thing. He's my sunshine on days like today. 🤍
Thursdays are for awkwardly-timed canter shots. Keeping it 💯. Nautica made some major breakthroughs in his connection in the contact this week! We're just now crossing over into "real" dressage. Hoping this good trend continues on through March then its back to Tennessee for the Scenic Flight I/II!
He may be cute but he's 100% begging for treats. Nautica has had some great rides this week! We've changed up our approach to his canter transitons and they've gotten so much better. We're able to do our counter-canter bumps on the right lead to the quarter-line and back without losing everything (for reference, this time last year we still didn't have a reliable right lead.) The left is still a challenge as Nautica loses his balance and skips around a bit in the front. Even still, he's getting stronger and better with each ride. We also started playing with some half-steps this month and they're getting pretty neat. Working with this horse's body type can be frustrating at times, especially with the goals I've set for us, but weeks like these make it so worth it. Nautica definitely deserves his cookies for all the work he's put in. Happy #saddlebredsaturday!
